Join Lynn Wheatley, of Lynn Wheatley Designs, for Curves Ahead during our Fall Quilting in Vermont Retreat. Learn from Lynn herself what inspired the integration of curves to produce one of these two medallion quilts, adding curves to your quilt skills will take your journey to a whole new level. The combination of the Sew Kind of Wonderful Wonder Curve Ruler and Studio 180 Design Tucker Trimmer I and a variety of techniques in Ellie’s Blooms and Just Cuz, that you’ll learn how to create during our retreat!
Lynn is the driving force behind Lynn Wheatley Designs, as well as a Certified Instructor for Studio 180 Design and Sew Kind of Wonderful. Lynn is a talented National Instructor, quilt pattern designer, as well as an Island Batik Pattern Designer. Lynn strives to make every quilter’s experience the best it can possibly be, by bringing her encouraging style, patience and organization skills to our retreats.
Here are the two projects:
Ellie’s Blooms is designed by Lynn Wheatley and inspired by the “Blooming Personality” of her granddaughter Ellie.
Just Cuz is designed by Lynn Wheatley and inspired using “Cousin Tools”, the Tucker Trimmer I™ tool and the Wonder Curve™.
Both are modern traditional quilts that combine the traditional piecing methods of Studio 180 Design and the curved piecing methods from Sew Kind of Wonderful. This design utilizes the Tucker Trimmer I™ tool from Studio 180 Design and the Wonder Curve™ from Sew Kind of Wonderful. You will master the use of both specialized tools and many tips and tricks for curved and precision piecing, proper pressing and pinning. You will learn by creating a few of all the units, assembling a few blocks and the tips to complete this quilt on your own.
Skill Level: Confident Beginner to Intermediate
