Join Jackie O’Brien for a fun filled 4 days/3 nights. The designs will amaze you every step of the way. The blocks are made from one fabric with very little waste! You cut and sew equilateral triangles forming hexagons and then design with these kaleidoscopic blocks. There are NO “Y” seams. This is similar but not Stack & Wack! It is an addicting technique, once you do one, you will be anxious to start another.
Since this quilt features one repeated block, design merely involves playing with the colors and shapes in any way you choose. The quilt you produce will have more energy and movement than the original fabric.
About Jackie O’Brien
Jackie made her first quilt in 2004 and it was love at first stitch. She is known for teaching One Block Wonder’s, of which she has made 62 so far. Jackie is a Certified Instructor for Studio 180 Design. Her passion is teaching others to quilt and find their own way to express themselves. Her quilts have been exhibited at the Virginia Quilt Museum, Fenimore Art Museum, Farmers Museum, Earlville Opera House, and the Munson Williams Proctor Art Institute. Two of Jackie’s One Block Wonders are featured in Maxine Rosenthal’s new book “One Block Wonders Around the World”. Her quilt “Waves of Joy” is included in Deb Tucker’s new book “Royal Treasures” and is based on the Hunter Star quilt.
Jackie teaches One Block Wonder techniques and can teach all of Deb Tuckers Studio 180 Design Tools. Her quilting style would be considered traditional with a twist! You can see some of her work at ifthesethreadscouldtalk.com.
