TESTIMONIAL

"One of our guests put together this pictorial collage of their many visits to the Inn.  It was so lovely we thought you'd enjoy seeing it too."

"The moment we drove up to the Strong House Inn we knew this was a heritage house, rich in culture and resplendent in the amenities of a time long forgotten."

The classic "Federal Style" Strong House Inn is in the Registry of Historic places.

"Imagine how my mouth dropped when I saw the stately Windsor Room; with its intrinsic, subdued richness, the Windsor Room emanates  an ambiance of old style traditions.  Now this room is a tradition of mine."

Every room at the Inn is a classic in its own right. We offer "experiences to let!"

"My Quilting In Vermont Seminar brought back memories of those times with Gram' and the family, a time long-past when things went a little slower, and the world was calm.  In these peaceful surroundings, and with the company of fun 'ol gals just like me, I created a memory I can display and share with my family." Harry spent the week at the Morgan horse ranches and canoeing.

"Who can resist the fantastic buys on genuine antiques, fine reproductions and Adirondack furnishings that abound in Vergennes and the Vermont area.  Local products, crafts and indigenous items always stir that "comfort" craving I have deep inside.  I chose to indulge, ... and I did it well."

Every tourist worth their salt checks out the fine wares and manufacturers.

"That ol' poop Father of yours turned out to be quite the Don Juan after all.  I wasn't sure if the man I thought I married was just a figment of my imagination, .. the years have a way of numbing your memories so.  But now I know that the love of my life is alive and well, ... you just have to drag 'em out of the city every now and then."

"Sugar Bush, Killian, Mt. Snow ... there are just so many resorts and places to ski.  We joined the couple over in the Victorian Suite for a fun day on the slopes.  Although their years got them up the hills faster, our years got us down them even more quickly; .. and Harry does enjoy those lodges so.  He says he enjoys the warm drinks by the hearth, but I know he's "rabbit hunting" for New York snow bunnies. That ol' hound never was much of a bird dog, as Daddy used to say, but he sure is loyal. I guess he can sniff around a bit cause he's gotta come home if he wants his bowl filled."

"Of course, fine dining begins at fine restaurants. It was a special treat to enjoy some of the local establishments in the old Grand Restaurant style, and several of the popular local attractions.  The Inn offered great recommendations for whatever we had a taste for."  Breakfast at the Inn is a must!

"For years I wondered where they got those great pictures they use to put on Jigsaw puzzles.  Now I've seen them for real and they are a truly a marvelous experience.  ... And which I fear will soon be lost to the cost-effective cookie-cutter modernization developments our husbands are always talking about."

It's so Cute! There's this darling little boutique right there in the Inn.  One-of-a kind gifts and local specialties inspired me for many upcoming occasions. Isn't your birthday coming up? Adorable gifts, cards, sweaters and slippers put me over the carryon limit. I'm lucky my stewardess had been here last year and knew I had no choice. She reserves a compartment now for tourists leaving Burlington.

"the Arbor we walked through when we first arrived was my entrance to the enchant that I new would follow.  I cant tell you how many times Harry and I strolled through the gardens, took the trails around the grounds, or strolled down to the pond (ice skating pond last trip).  Every season its a new panorama, and a new experience."

"I thought they were just spinning their wheels till this year we joined the bike tour that the Inn hosts.  The panoply of color and hues danced splendidly off the gentle rolling country side. The miles of endless expressions of life warmed my heart with illimitable imaginings of Gods splendid gifts. The world is a beautiful place, you just have to know where to start looking. When we check into the Inn now we take off our blinders and open ourselves to new experiences each trip."

"They just drove in one day. Twenty of the most intriguing machines, and their enthusiasts..  A bit noisy, but magnificent still. Most of them were couples staying at the Inn on this leg of their car tour.  We got a great shot of Mary, the innkeeper behind the wheel of one of those "T's".  Harry's off playing mechanic now with the club director, ... I suspect we'll be driving in via crank-vehicle next trip.

"This is a great place to spend a day or two, and not too far from the Inn.  It is located on the shores of Lake Champlain about twenty miles south of Burlington.  We tied-down next to the restaurant for a great meal, the one where I took those great cooking classes last trip. Harry fell in love with the 18 hole golf course all over again."

"The Fall Foliage season in Vermont is perhaps the quintessential tourist experience. Incomprehensible beauty and natural splendors abound as the entire countryside bursts forth in a kaleidoscopic metamorphosis from summer to winter.    A true rainbow on earth, this experience is worth all the purported gold in them 'thar heavens.

"We initially wanted to come to Vergennes to explore the historic richness of the area. After exploring all the glorious distractions of Vermont (mostly my doing) I finally got out and discovered some of the most fascinating historical spots in the country. Here I am married to a history professor and it took a vacation to finally understand what he's so excited about."
